NOTES: The event returns after being canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Kang will defend his maiden PGA Tour victory from two years ago. While it comes at a different course, Kang is a member of TPC Craig Ranch. ... The field includes only two top-10 players in No. 3 Jon Rahm and No. 4 Bryson DeChambeau and 10 of the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings. ... Pierceson Coody, Cole Hammer and Tyler Strafaci are in the field after helping the United States win last week's Walker Cup. It will mark Strafaci's professional debut. ... The event moves to TPC Craig Ranch after two years at Trinity Forest Golf Club. TPC Craig Ranch, designed by Tom Weiskopf and completed in 2004, has played host to the Korn Ferry Tour and is slated to host the Byron Nelson for the next five years. The course features Zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens.

BEST BETS: Rahm (800 at DraftKings) is coming off his first missed cut in 11 months but still leads the PGA Tour with nine top-10s this season. He has not won since the BMW Championship in August. ... DeChambeau (800) has risen to a career high in the world rankings following his T9 last week. The Dallas resident has missed the cut in two previous event starts. ... Jordan Spieth (1100) is also a Dallas resident as he returns from a four-week break since the Masters. ... Hideki Matsuyama (2000) tees it up for the first time since winning at Augusta National last month. ... Will Zalatoris (2200) is another resident of the area who will commute from home this week. He first played at TPC Craig Ranch as a 12-year-old. ... Marc Leishman (3500) followed a T5 at the Masters with a win at the Zurich Classic with teammate Cam Smith. He also finished second at Trinity Forest two years ago.
